Exam report

Image of an exam paper and pencil. Yet again, students at Sponne School Technology College were delighted with their A level and GCSE results this year.

Many students achieved stunning results. Results have continued to rise and there has been even further improvement in what were already excellent A level results. 41% of grades were awarded at either grade A or B. Among the many delighted students celebrating were Abbie Marlow, Joe Florey, Eleanor Redman, Laura Baines, Lauren Lewis, Pete Brook, Danielle Blackwell, James Tyrrell, Ruby Patterson, Alex Gocher and Robyn Marsh, all achieving outstanding results.

We had our highest level of GCSE grades the school has ever seen this summer.  Our 5 A*-C grades have risen yet again by a further 8% to 79% and our 5 A*-C including English and mathematics also increased again to 63% - tremendous news.  Our results are consistently well above national and county averages.  Among the many delighted students celebrating were Poppy Mills who gained 9.5 A* and 1.5 A grades, Kate Harvey with 7 A* and 3 A grades, Naomi Compton with 7 A*s and 3 A grades, Ryan Hanley with 6 A*s and 4 A grades, Helen Whalley with 6 A* and 4.5 A grades and Dominic Barker with 5 A* and 4.5 A grades. Many more students gained the excellent grades with 93% gaining at least one A*-C grade.

Headteacher Jamie Clarke said: “We are absolutely delighted with these results. I am really proud of all our students who have done so well.
