Have you thought of teaching as a new career?
• Do you have Maths and English at GCSE?
• Do you have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in one of our six subject areas?
The Grand Union Training Partnership has been training teachers in the area since 1997. It is made up of a consortium of local schools, Sponne, Roade, Magdalen College (Brackley), Campion School (Bugbrooke), Kingsbrook (Deanshanger) and Guilsborough. Currently centred on Sponne School, we have a purpose built training centre and offer practical, full time, teacher training courses in Business Studies, English, French, German, History, Mathematics and Science. Trainees spend most of the year in one or other of the partnership schools where they involve themselves fully in school life and also gain experience during their main teaching practice at another partnership school. At the end of this period they achieve Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE validated by the University of Leicester.
Members of staff at Sponne School are involved in mentoring the trainees (Associate Teachers) and delivering the seminars on professional standards. The links between the school and the GUTP enhance the schools’ s overall professional development and provide a recruitment source for new teachers who have the advantage of experience within the partnership schools.
We are currently recruiting trainees for September 2010. If you are interested in training to teach any of the above subjects - and have Maths and English GSCE at grade C or above and a relevant degree or equivalent qualification - then please contact The Grand Union Training Partnership at training@gutp.org.uk or on 01327 350284 ext 253.
